Disability Awareness Programs

At DHIFI, we advance our mission with a SEL curriculum for high schools in a variety of ways.

  • School Programs: Through our programs for schools, inclusion and SEL education are integrated into the curriculum. Students are engaged in meaningful discussions regarding respect and acceptance through these programs, which include workshops, classroom activities, and assemblies.
  • Community Programs: Our goal is to extend our reach beyond school environments by collaborating with community organizations, summer camps, faith-based groups, and other non-profits. Having inclusive communities that celebrate inclusion and promote understanding is the goal of these programs.

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience.
