Discover More About The Benefits of SEL Activities

Promoting belonging initiatives for students to foster tolerance and acceptance is our mission at DHIFI. Here DHIFI, we envision a world where the uniqueness of every child isn’t just recognized but something that is celebrated actively. We’re committed to empowering kids and teens to celebrate their differences and stand tall. Our endeavors are essential in helping young people develop into individuals who are confident and compassionate. We provide a wide range of programs for schools, universities, communities, and corporate settings to this end.

Social Emotional Learning Program

At the heart of DHIFI is the dedication we have to a social emotional learning curriculum for students. This includes giving younger individuals instruction regarding goal-setting, emotional intelligence, relationship-building, empathy, and making better choices. At DHIFI, we broaden the scope of SEL by motivating students to embrace their unique characteristics with programs that highlight individualism.

  • Sharing narratives: Motivating students to tell their stories builds their self-esteem and breaks down the societal constructs that frequently cause bullying.
  • Accentuating individuality: We educate students that their different attributes are merits rather than inadequacies.

We champion the acceptance of oneself and others and foster respect for individuals from different walks of life, guaranteeing everybody knows they have a place, no matter the differences they have.

Classroom Activity Ideas

At Don’t Hide It Flaunt It, we’ve also created the Project Flaunt Hub, an online interactive platform for acceptance activities for elementary school . By promoting self-acceptance, celebrating differences, and fostering a school environment that’s more inclusive, we aim to ensure students feel empowered. Building empathy and confidence among peers is the goal of this initiative, which is capable of being achieved by encouraging students to flaunt their unique experiences and qualities. The program offers various resources and activities designed to integrate into school curricula, emphasizing social-emotional learning (SEL) and inclusion. To create a understanding and nurturing community where every student feels accepted and valued, schools should consider implementing these activities. An Inclusion Program For Educators

There are many reasons when it comes to a SEL program for educators, DHIFI stands out. Together with these initiatives, DHIFI is focused on doing away with bullying, with techniques that include:

  • Encouraging a compassionate culture: When understanding and empathy are nurtured, bullying finds no foothold.
  • The promotion of understanding: Assisting students in taking on different viewpoints, which lessens exclusionary conduct.

Disability Education Programs For Companies

Considering DHIFI for empathy-based workshop for schools? Our organization, founded by Meg Zucker, was born from an individual journey and is focused on the promotion of acceptance of one’s self. With the personal understanding of living with a rare genetic condition impacting her and her husband’s limbs, and with two of their three children that have inherited the condition, Meg has shaped DHIFI into a platform for the celebration of visible differences. From its inception, DHIFI has flourished into a vibrant community, inspiring families, schools, and individuals to celebrate their differences only, turning things that were perceived as obstacles into springboards for empowerment and growth. DHIFI founder Meg Zucker also offers speaking engagements to further our mission. Get in touch with us today to discover more.

Testimonials

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.

When the U.S. Embassy in Israel hosted Meg Zucker as a Distinguished American Speaker in 2015, the audiences she spoke and met with were deeply inspired by her personal story, her effective advocacy, and the early success of Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It.  Her appearance made a huge impact with advocates for inclusion and acceptance which still resonates today with those who met her.

Daniel Shapiro

former U.S. Ambassador to Israel

Meg is an energetic and engaging speaker who inspires all who meet her with her life story of growing up with a blatant physical difference and parenting kids who share her difference.   Her message of “the things that make me different make me, me” is heartfelt and impactful and resonates with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.  Meg’s mission of building acceptance, tolerance, and empathy is more important now than ever before.  Everyone who has the pleasure of hearing Meg’s story and her vision will be better for it.
