Belonging Programs

At the core of DHIFI is our dedication to a SEL program for students. This includes giving younger individuals instruction regarding emotional intelligence, goal-setting, relationship-building, empathy, and making better choices. At DHIFI, we increase the scope of SEL by inspiring students to take pride in their distinctive qualities with programs that highlight individualism.

  • Narrative exchange: Students boost their self-confidence and break down social boundaries that typically produce bullying, by recounting the stories of their own lives.
  • Showcasing uniqueness: Our teachings confirm that one of a kind features are valuable resources, not faults.

Included in our mission, we advocate for self-acceptance and the acceptance of others, foster respect for people from diverse backgrounds, and make certain everyone feels they belong, despite their differences.

Disability Acceptance Activities For Organizations

Thinking about DHIFI for SEL programs for schools? Our organization, created by Meg Zucker, was born from a personal journey and is focused on promoting self-acceptance. With the personal insight of living with a unique genetic condition affecting her and her husband’s limbs, and with two of their three children that have inherited the condition, Meg has steered DHIFI into a platform that celebrates visible differences. DHIFI started as a seed of an idea and in the time that has followed has blossomed into a vibrant community, where families and educational institutions are encouraged to flaunt the things that make them different, transforming potential barriers into opportunities for empowerment. Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It founder Meg Zucker also offers speaking engagements to further our mission. Get in touch with us today to discover more.

Testimonials

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.

Meg is an energetic and engaging speaker who inspires all who meet her with her life story of growing up with a blatant physical difference and parenting kids who share her difference.   Her message of “the things that make me different make me, me” is heartfelt and impactful and resonates with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.  Meg’s mission of building acceptance, tolerance, and empathy is more important now than ever before.  Everyone who has the pleasure of hearing Meg’s story and her vision will be better for it.
