SEL Activities For Families
Reflection is an essential component of social emotional activities for families. When is the last time you took time out of your day to give serious thought to what makes you unique? People begin seeing each other in a whole new light if you reflect on and share what makes you, you. You aren’t alone if you’re not sure where to begin. Project Flaunt offers ideas for self acceptance activities for the classroom for this reason. Think about things that make you unique. This can be your body, mind, daily life or family.

A Belonging Curriculum
DHIFI, created by Meg Zucker, isn’t just a nonprofit; it’s the realization of a personal journey toward self-acceptance. Tapping into the collective experiences of their family with conspicuous differences, Meg and her husband-who share an unusual genetic condition-have inspired DHIFI to grow into a community where celebrating differences is the norm. From its inception, DHIFI has flourished into a radiant community, inspiring schools, families, and individuals to celebrate their differences only, turning things that were perceived as obstacles into springboards for growth and empowerment.
Disability Support Curriculum
There’s a large number of reasons when it comes to SEL activities for communities, DHIFI stands out. Together with these efforts, DHIFI is committed to getting rid of bullying, with strategies that include:
- Encouraging a compassionate culture: When empathy and understanding are cultivated, bullying finds no place.
- Cultivating empathy: By assisting students in viewing the world through the perspectives of others, we reduce the likelihood of behaviors that are exclusionary.
