Find Out More About The Benefits of a SEL Curriculum for Students

Promoting empathy-based programs for students to foster acceptance and tolerance is what we’re all about at DHIFI. DHIFI’s vision is a community that doesn’t merely acknowledge but actively celebrates every child’s individuality. We’re committed to giving kids and teens the encouragement they need to lean into their differences and stand tall. Helping young people grow into individuals who are compassionate and confident is the focus of the work we do. We work on developing initiatives for a variety of institutions, such as schools, higher education centers, local businesses and communities.

An Inclusion Program Curriculum

The advancement of SEL programs for universities is the cornerstone of DHIFI’s mission. This includes instructing those who are younger on goal-setting, emotional intelligence, empathy, relationship-building, and prudent decision-making. At DHIFI, we broaden the scope of SEL by motivating students to embrace their special qualities with programs that highlight individualism.

  • Narrative exchange: Students boost their self-confidence and break down social boundaries that commonly produce bullying, by recounting the stories of their own lives.
  • Highlighting uniqueness: Our teachings confirm that one of a kind features are beneficial assets, not shortcomings.

We champion the acceptance of oneself and others and foster individual respect from different walks of life, ensuring everyone is aware they have a place, regardless of their differences.

Self Acceptance Activities For Middle School

At Don’t Hide It Flaunt It, we’ve also created the Project Flaunt Hub, an interactive online platform for welcome activities for students . Project Flaunt strives to empower students through the celebration of differences, promoting self-acceptance, and fostering an inclusive school environment. By encouraging students to flaunt their unique experiences and qualities, the initiative seeks to build confidence and empathy among peers. Emphasizing social-emotional learning (SEL) and inclusion, the various resources and activities offered in this curriculum are designed to be integrated into school curricula. Schools can implement these activities to create a understanding and supportive community where each student feels valued and accepted. Belonging Curriculum For The Workplace

There’s a large number of reasons why we stand out at DHIFI for a SEL curriculum for students. Along with these efforts, DHIFI is committed to eliminating bullying, with strategies that include:

  • Promoting a culture of kindness: By fostering mutual understanding, we establish an environment where bullying cannot thrive.
  • The promotion of understanding: Helping students take on different viewpoints, which lessens exclusionary conduct.

Disability Education Workshops For Organizations

Why choose DHIFI for SEL programs for elementary schools? Launched by Meg Zucker, DHIFI is a nonprofit that emerged from an experience that’s deeply personal and champions the acceptance of one’s self. With the personal insight of living with a rare genetic condition affecting her and her husband’s limbs, and with two of their three children that have inherited the condition, Meg has shaped DHIFI into a platform for the celebration of visible differences. From its inception, DHIFI has flourished into a radiant community, inspiring schools, families, and individuals to openly celebrate their differences, turning perceived obstacles into springboards for empowerment and growth. DHIFI founder Meg Zucker also offers speaking engagements to further our mission. Discover more by getting in touch with us today.

Testimonials

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.

When the U.S. Embassy in Israel hosted Meg Zucker as a Distinguished American Speaker in 2015, the audiences she spoke and met with were deeply inspired by her personal story, her effective advocacy, and the early success of Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It.  Her appearance made a huge impact with advocates for inclusion and acceptance which still resonates today with those who met her.

Daniel Shapiro

Meg is an energetic and engaging speaker who inspires all who meet her with her life story of growing up with a blatant physical difference and parenting kids who share her difference.   Her message of “the things that make me different make me, me” is heartfelt and impactful and resonates with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.  Meg’s mission of building acceptance, tolerance, and empathy is more important now than ever before.  Everyone who has the pleasure of hearing Meg’s story and her vision will be better for it.
