Learn More About The Benefits of An Inclusion Program

Our mission at DHIFI is encouraging acceptance and tolerance with the help of emotional support training for students. The vision of DHIFI is a society that doesn’t merely recognize but celebrates each child’s individuality actively. Giving adolescents and children the confidence they need to accept their unique characteristics and stand proudly with confidence is our mission at DHIFI. Helping young people grow into individuals who are compassionate and confident is the focus of the work we do. We provide a wide range of programs for schools, universities, corporate settings and communities to this end.

A Belonging Curriculum

The advancement of inclusion and belonging workshops for universities lies at the heart of DHIFI’s mission. We focus on enhancing the youth’s abilities for emotional comprehension, establishing positive goals, fostering empathic interactions, building relationships, and executing decisions. We magnify the impact of SEL at DHIFI by encouraging learners to be proud of the things that make them unique, supported by educational offerings that emphasize expanding the reach of SEL, inspiring students to feel pride when it comes to their individuality, supported by endeavors that include:

  • Exchanging narratives: Students bolster their self-confidence and break down social barriers that typically result in bullying, by sharing their own life stories.
  • Accentuating distinctiveness: We educate students that their diverse characteristics are merits rather than inadequacies.

Included in our mission, we advocate for self-acceptance and the acceptance of others, nurture respect for people from a variety of backgrounds, and ensure everyone feels they belong, despite their differences.

SEL Activities For Families

An online interactive platform for SEL activities for elementary school , Project Flaunt is additionally an initiative of Don’t Hide It Flaunt It. Project Flaunt aims to empower students through the celebration of differences, promoting self-acceptance, and ensuring school environments are more inclusive. Building empathy and confidence among peers is the goal of this initiative, which is capable of being achieved by encouraging students to flaunt their unique qualities and experiences. Various activities and resources designed for integration into school curricula, emphasizing inclusion and social-emotional learning (SEL) are offered by this program. Schools are capable of implementing these activities to create a nurturing and understanding community where every student feels accepted and valued. Disability Acceptance Curriculum For Educators

DHIFI, created by Meg Zucker, is more than a nonprofit; it’s the embodiment of a personal journey toward self-acceptance. Tapping into the collective experiences of their family with obvious differences, Meg and her husband-who share a rare genetic condition-have inspired DHIFI to become a community where celebrating differences is completely normal. DHIFI began as a seed of an idea and in the time that has followed has grown into a vibrant community, where educational institutions and families are given the encouragement they need to celebrate the things that make them different, transforming potential barriers into opportunities for empowerment. Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It founder Meg Zucker additionally offers speaking engagements to further our mission. Get in touch with us today to discover more.

Testimonials

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.

When the U.S. Embassy in Israel hosted Meg Zucker as a Distinguished American Speaker in 2015, the audiences she spoke and met with were deeply inspired by her personal story, her effective advocacy, and the early success of Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It.  Her appearance made a huge impact with advocates for inclusion and acceptance which still resonates today with those who met her.

Daniel Shapiro

former U.S. Ambassador to Israel

Meg is an energetic and engaging speaker who inspires all who meet her with her life story of growing up with a blatant physical difference and parenting kids who share her difference.   Her message of “the things that make me different make me, me” is heartfelt and impactful and resonates with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.  Meg’s mission of building acceptance, tolerance, and empathy is more important now than ever before.  Everyone who has the pleasure of hearing Meg’s story and her vision will be better for it.
