Find Out About The Benefits of an Inclusion Curriculum for Schools

Promoting disability education initiatives for schools to foster acceptance and tolerance is what we’re all about at DHIFI. Here DHIFI, we dream of a world where the uniqueness of every child is not simply recognized but something that is celebrated actively. We are committed to giving kids and teens the encouragement they need to celebrate their differences and stand tall. The work we do helps young people grow into confident and compassionate individuals. To achieve this goal, we provide a inclusion of programs for schools, universities, communities, and corporate settings.

A Belonging Curriculum

Central to DHIFI’s mission is the promotion of SEL activities for universities. Our aim is to teach young minds the ways to process their emotions, set positive goals, demonstrate empathy, forge meaningful relationships, and make better choices. At DHIFI, we broaden SEL’s scope by motivating students to embrace their unique characteristics with programs that highlight individualism.

  • Story sharing: By sharing the experiences they’ve had with others, students gain confidence and tackle the barriers that often result in bullying.
  • Emphasizing uniqueness: We teach that differences are assets to be valued, not deficits.

Championing self-acceptance and the acceptance of others, encouraging regard for various backgrounds, and guaranteeing a sense of belonging for everyone, no matter their individuality, are key parts of our vision.

Acceptance Activities For Middle School

An online interactive platform for icebreaker activities for families , Project Flaunt is also an initiative of Don’t Hide It Flaunt It. We believe students are capable of being empowered and learn self acceptance by fostering more inclusive environments and celebrating the things that make us unique. We believe that when students flaunt their unique experiences and qualities, the result is increased empathy and confidence among peers. This is what this initiative is all about. Various resources and activities designed for integration into school curricula, emphasizing social-emotional learning (SEL) and inclusion are provided by this program. For schools looking to ensure each student feels accepted and valued, a understanding and supportive community can be created with the implementation of these activities. Anti-Bullying Program

Why pick DHIFI for disability support programs for educators? Launched by Meg Zucker, DHIFI is a nonprofit that originated from a deeply personal experience and champions self-acceptance. With the individual insight of living with a rare genetic condition affecting her and her husband’s limbs, and with two of their three children inheriting the condition, Meg has shaped DHIFI into a platform for the celebration of visible differences. DHIFI started as an idea’s seed and in the time that has followed has grown into a vibrant community, where educational institutions and families are given the encouragement they need to flaunt their differences, transforming potential barriers into empowering opportunities. DHIFI founder Meg Zucker also offers speaking engagements to further our mission. Discover more by getting in touch with us today.

Testimonials

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.

Meg is an energetic and engaging speaker who inspires all who meet her with her life story of growing up with a blatant physical difference and parenting kids who share her difference.   Her message of “the things that make me different make me, me” is heartfelt and impactful and resonates with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.  Meg’s mission of building acceptance, tolerance, and empathy is more important now than ever before.  Everyone who has the pleasure of hearing Meg’s story and her vision will be better for it.
