These activities encourage students to appreciate and understand their own and others’ distinctive characteristics, promoting a culture of empathy and acceptance. Inclusion Programs For Summer Camps

We take social emotional learning programs for educators very seriously at DHIFI. Everyone deserves to feel respected and valued. Our inclusion programs are designed to create inclusive spaces to achieve this. We work with community organizations, schools, and corporations to deliver presentations and workshops that highlight how important inclusion is to a well functioning society. Many different aspects of inclusion are addressed in our programs. This includes both visible differences like physical disabilities and ones you can’t see including mental health issues and learning disabilities.

Emotional Support Activities

At DHIFI, we’re dedicated to offering disability awareness workshop for students. A large number of people have unfortunately experienced the prevalence of bullying in so many educational settings. By working to promote empathy and understanding among students with anti-bullying activities, we can make significant progress against this. Our aim is to foster an environment that’s safer and more supportive by supplying tools and strategies to help students not only recognize but address bullying behavior. When the importance of respecting differences is emphasized, a sense of responsibility is developed in students that leads them to create a community that is bully-free. Social Emotional Learning Programs School Assemblies

At Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It, our SEL programs come to life through inspiring school assemblies that foster empathy, self-awareness, and community. Each assembly, whether focused on bullying prevention, disability support, or inclusivity, encourages students to acknowledge both their individual strengths and the unique value in others. By combining personal narrative, student discussion, and guided self-reflection, we inspire students to recognize their own individual traits and those in their community. They do more than education by sparking real student-led change and developing a lasting inclusive culture in school communities. Want to offer this impactful program to your students?

Disability Awareness Training

We advance our mission of a SEL program for educators in a variety of ways at DHIFI.

  • School Programs: Inclusion and SEL education are integrated into the curriculum through our programs for schools. Students are engaged in meaningful discussions concerning respect and acceptance through these programs, which include classroom activities, workshops, and assemblies.
  • Community Programs: Our goal is to extend our reach beyond school environments by working with community organizations, summer camps, faith-based groups, and other non-profits. Having inclusive communities where diversity is celebrated and understanding promoted is the goal of these programs.
  • Corporate Programs: Our goal is to expand our reach to the business sector as well. As part of this goal, Inclusion presentations and training sessions are offered so that workplaces that are more inclusive can be created by companies. A culture of acceptance and respect among employees is something these programs promote which are tailored to each organization’s specific needs.

At DHIFI we strive to supply inspiration for individuals so that they can not only accept the things that make them different but work towards creating a more inclusive culture as a whole. Through our social emotional learning activities, empathy building activities families , inclusion programs, and anti-bullying activities, our goal is to create environments where everybody feels valued and respected.

Testimonials

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.

When the U.S. Embassy in Israel hosted Meg Zucker as a Distinguished American Speaker in 2015, the audiences she spoke and met with were deeply inspired by her personal story, her effective advocacy, and the early success of Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It.  Her appearance made a huge impact with advocates for inclusion and acceptance which still resonates today with those who met her.

Daniel Shapiro

former U.S. Ambassador to Israel

Meg is an energetic and engaging speaker who inspires all who meet her with her life story of growing up with a blatant physical difference and parenting kids who share her difference.   Her message of “the things that make me different make me, me” is heartfelt and impactful and resonates with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.  Meg’s mission of building acceptance, tolerance, and empathy is more important now than ever before.  Everyone who has the pleasure of hearing Meg’s story and her vision will be better for it.
