Our social-emotional learning, or SEL activities are created to help students handle emotions, develop healthy relationships, and make responsible choices. Encouraging them to share personal stories is among the best ways. At Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It, we emphasize using storytelling as a way for students to bond, helping them to view the world through each other’s eyes. This is an example of the real power of a SEL program.

DHIFI knows how important it is to empower children with disabilities, which is why we advance a SEL program for organizations and icebreaker activities for the classroom . For young people with disabilities, it is essential for their growth, self-esteem, and feeling of inclusion to feel empowered. By recognizing their unique abilities and creating chances to showcase their talents, we help these children fulfill their full capability. We believe in the power of SEL and it’s importance for anti-bullying initiatives for schools. Bullying remains a major problem for schools, but taking measures that are proactive are capable of making a difference. Students can be equipped with essential skills such as conflict resolution, self-awareness, and empathy as a result of Social Emotional Learning (SEL). Bullying incidents are capable of being minimized students are taught to understand and embrace differences as a result of the environment of kindness and inclusion this creates. Students are empowered to support one another as a result of the implementation of SEL programs. Self Acceptance Activity Ideas For Middle School

An online interactive platform for social emotional activities for families , Project Flaunt is additionally an initiative of Don’t Hide It Flaunt It. Not only are these activities safe and structured, but they can be used in any classroom environment. Our SEL activities give students the opportunity to share their individuality and create connections with their peers, whether through small group conversations, prompts for creative writing, or art projects. We help foster environments where students can build meaningful relationships built on empathy and understanding by supplying these opportunities.

Disability Awareness Workshop For Schools

Helping schools integrate a SEL program for educators into their core curriculum is something we are passionate about. We believe that acceptance must be woven into the fabric of every classroom, not only in isolated lessons. Each student should feel comfortable flaunting what makes them unique. Providing educators with the resources and guidance to foster a culture of belonging that supports this is the goal of our Inclusion programs. By providing educators with the proper guidance and resources that our Inclusion programs provide, we’re able to create a culture of belonging where students are capable of flaunting whatever makes them unique comfortably. Our individual experiences are shaped by factors like differences like race, ability, background, and gender. By encouraging discussions about Inclusion, and inclusion, students are able to reflect on these factors. These conversations are about celebrating differences, not just embracing them. Our programs help students grasp that their differences are something to be proud of and that everyone’s story deserves to be shared and appreciated.

Get To Know You Activities For The Classroom

One of our signature initiatives is Project Flaunt, which motivates students and educators alike to celebrate their individual experiences and traits with self acceptance activities for middle school . Participants can submit artwork, stories, or photos that showcase their individuality through the Project Flaunt Hub. This platform allows students to flaunt what makes them unique, building a space where they’re able to embrace their individuality and motivate others to do the same. We hold the belief that by sharing these stories, classrooms can become places where inclusion isn’t just acknowledged but celebrated. While Project Flaunt is a place for creativity, it’s also so much more than that. Students are able to foster greater inclusion and understanding while discovering about themselves and others.

Emotional Support Program

We work with community organizations, summer camps, faith-based organizations, and other non-profits.

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.
