At Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It, we further our cause of inclusion and understanding through disability awareness training for schools. The belief that schools should be places where students feel valued, and acknowledged for who they are while also being places of learning is our firm belief at DHIFI. As an organization dedicated to promoting inclusion, we offer educators practical tools to help students connect with one another through social-emotional learning, or SEL activities. Activities like these enable students to grow by fostering an environment that’s inclusive.

Inclusion And Belonging Programs

By providing inclusivity program for high schools, we’re capable of making a real difference in the lives of students. Our social-emotional learning, or SEL activities are created to help students handle emotions, develop healthy relationships, and make thoughtful choices. A large number of students only connect with each other on the surface, but going deeper is so much more important. One of the best ways to do that is by encouraging them to open up about their personal stories. At Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It, we stress using storytelling as a way for students to bond, allowing them to see the world through the eyes of another. This is an example of the true power of SEL activities.

DHIFI knows how important it is to empower children with disabilities, which is the reason we’re a proponent of emotional support training for organizations and icebreaker activities for middle school . When children with disabilities are empowered, they get a feeling of inclusion, which is essential for their development and self-esteem. We strive to help these young people achieve their full capability by recognizing their unique abilities and offering opportunities to showcase their talents. It is essential to offer nurturing environments and inclusive programs to help young people with disabilities excel in both social interaction and educational success. Her vision and guidance always motivate children and adults alike to embrace their true selves and embrace what makes them special.

An online interactive platform for acceptance activities for kids , Project Flaunt is additionally an initiative of Don’t Hide It Flaunt It. Through the Project Flaunt Hub, participants can share artwork, stories, or photos that reflect their individuality. Students can not only express the things that set them apart with our platform, but they can motivate others as well. Classrooms are able to become places where inclusion is not just accepted but honored by expressing these stories. Students can learn more about themselves and others while fostering greater inclusion and understanding, making Project Flaunt so much more than only a place for creativity.

Emotional Support Activities

This program is designed to help kids and teens build self-confidence, empathy and healthy relationship skills.

We work with community organizations, summer camps, faith-based organizations, and other non-profits.

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.
