We strive to make a real difference in the lives of students by offering a SEL curriculum for schools. Students are able to benefit from our social-emotional learning, or SEL activities in a variety of ways, like managing emotions, building healthy relationships, and making informed decisions. A lot of students only get to know each other on a surface level, but going deeper is so much more important. There’s a large number of ways to do this, such as sharing personal stories. We emphasize using storytelling as a way for students to connect at Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It. This way they can view the world through the eyes of someone else. This is an example of the true power of inclusion programs.

Belonging Activities

DHIFI knows how important it is to empower children with disabilities, which is the reason we’re a proponent of social emotional learning programs for organizations and welcome activity ideas students . Empowering children with disabilities is crucial for their growth, confidence, and sense of belonging. By recognizing their unique abilities and providing platforms to display their skills, we help these young people realize their full capability. Born with a genetic condition called ectrodactyly, Meg has celebrated her uniqueness and committed her life to assisting others in doing the same. She has had a legal career that has spanned decades and has dedicated herself personally to fostering empathy and inclusion wherever and whenever possible. These insights have helped her empower people to embrace the things that make them unique. With her leadership and vision, DHIFI continues to offer children and adults alike the encouragement they need to embrace their true selves and accept what makes them extraordinary.

Welcome Activities For The Classroom

One of our primary initiatives is Project Flaunt, which motivates educators and students alike to celebrate their individual traits and experiences with self acceptance activities for middle school . Through the Project Flaunt Hub, participants are able to share stories, artwork, or photos that showcase their individuality. This platform allows students to express what makes them different, building a space where they’re able to embrace their individuality and inspire others to follow. Classrooms are able to become places where inclusion is not just acknowledged but honored by sharing these stories. Project Flaunt is more than only a place for creativity — it’s a chance for students to discover about themselves and each other, fostering greater inclusion and understanding.

Bullying Awareness Activities

An online interactive platform for classroom activity ideas , Project Flaunt is also an initiative of Don’t Hide It Flaunt It. To further our mission, speaking engagements are also given by Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It founder Meg Zucker. By accepting what makes each of us unique, we can build stronger, more welcoming communities where each student feels empowered to flaunt who they are.

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.
