Through engaging programs and activities, promoting acceptance, understanding, tolerance, and mutual respect for visible and unseen differences is our mission.

Inclusion Programs

Advancing an SEL curriculum is one of the cornerstones of our efforts at DHIFI. Our programs are crafted to help young people develop empathy, self-confidence and healthy relationship skills. A range of SEL activities customized to foster an inclusive environment in schools, communities, and corporate settings can be found at DHIFI. Inclusion Activities For Organizations

At DHIFI, inclusion and belonging programs for organizations is something we take very seriously. Everybody deserves to feel valued and respected. The inclusion programs we offer are crafted to create inclusive spaces to achieve this. We work with community organizations, schools, and businesses to deliver workshops and presentations highlighting how important inclusion is to a well functioning society. From visible differences such as physical disabilities to ones you can’t see such as learning disabilities and mental health issues, the programs we offer address various aspects of inclusion.

Anti-Bullying Activities

We’re committed to providing disability education program for educators at DHIFI. In many educational settings, bullying continues to be a sizeable issue. We strive to promote empathy and understanding among students, believing this issue is capable of being combated. Bullying behavior can be not only recognized but additionally addressed with the strategies and tools we provide. This helps create an environment that is built on safety and support. Students are helped to develop a sense of responsibility towards creating a community that’s free of bullies by highlighting the importance of respecting differences. Emotional Support School Assemblies

Disability Acceptance Program For Educators

At DHIFI, we advance our mission with emotional support programs for universities in a variety of ways.

  • School Programs: Our school programs are designed to integrate SEL and inclusion education into the curriculum. Students are engaged in meaningful discussions concerning respect and acceptance through these programs, which include workshops, classroom activities, and assemblies.
  • Community Programs: We aim to extend our reach beyond school environments by collaborating with community organizations, summer camps, faith-based groups, and other non-profits. Having inclusive communities where diversity is celebrated and understanding promoted is the goal of these programs.
  • Corporate Programs: We offer Inclusion presentations and training sessions that help companies create workplaces that are more inclusive as part of our goal of expanding our reach to the business sector. Each organization’s needs are taken into account with these programs. A culture of acceptance and respect among employees is promoted by these programs.

This program is designed to help kids and teens build self-confidence, empathy and healthy relationship skills.

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.
