A SEL Program

At the center of our efforts at DHIFI is Social Emotional Learning (SEL). Developing empathy, self-confidence, and healthy relationship skills for young people is the objective of our programs. We strive to promote inclusive environments in many places, such as communities, schools, and even business settings and offer a variety of SEL activities to this end. To foster a culture of acceptance and empathy, students are encouraged to appreciate and understand the qualities that make themselves and others special with activities like these. Social Emotional Learning Programs For High Schools

We take SEL programs for educators very seriously at DHIFI. Our inclusion programs at DHIFI are designed to create inclusive spaces where everyone feels valued and respected. Disability Education Initiatives For Educators

We advance our mission of anti-bullying activities for organizations in many ways at DHIFI.

  • School Programs: Through our programs for schools, SEL and inclusion education are integrated into the curriculum. Students are engaged in meaningful discussions about acceptance and respect through these programs, which include classroom activities, workshops, and assemblies.
  • Community Programs: We aim to extend our reach past school environments by collaborating with community organizations, summer camps, faith-based groups, and other non-profits. These programs aim to build inclusive communities that celebrate inclusion and promote understanding.
  • Corporate Programs: We provide Inclusion, and Belonging presentations and training sessions that assist companies in creating more inclusive workplaces as part of our goal of expanding our reach to the business sector. A culture of acceptance and respect among employees is something these programs promote which are tailored to the specific needs of each organization.

DHIFI strives to provide inspiration for individuals so that they’re not only capable of accepting their own differences but work towards creating a more inclusive culture as a whole. During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.
