At Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It, we further our cause of inclusion and understanding through disability education workshop for universities. The belief that schools should be places where students feel appreciated, and acknowledged for who they are while also being places of learning is our firm belief at DHIFI. Our organization is committed to advancing inclusion, offering practical tools to teachers to assist students in connecting through social-emotional learning, or SEL activities. By providing empathy-based program for universities, we’re capable of making a real difference in the lives of students. Our social-emotional learning, or SEL activities are created to help students handle emotions, develop healthy relationships, and make responsible choices. DHIFI knows how important it is to empower children with disabilities, which is the reason we advance SEL programs for schools and SEL activity ideas families . Her aspiration and inspiration consistently motivate children and adults alike to embrace their true selves and embrace what makes them extraordinary.

By equipping educators with the proper guidance and resources that our Inclusion programs offer, we’re able to create a culture of belonging where students are capable of flaunting whatever makes them unique comfortably. Our individual experiences are influenced by factors like differences like race, ability, background, and gender. By promoting discussions about Inclusion, and inclusion, students get the opportunity to consider on these factors. These conversations aren’t only about accepting differences — they are about honoring them. Recognizing that differences are something to be confident of is part of this program. We hold the belief that everyone’s story deserves to be heard.

Social Emotional Activities For The Classroom

One of our primary initiatives is Project Flaunt, which encourages educators and students alike to celebrate their unique experiences and traits with acceptance activities for the classroom . Through the Project Flaunt Hub, participants can submit stories, artwork, or photos that reflect their individuality. Students can not only express the things that set them apart with our platform, but they can motivate others as well. Classrooms should be places where inclusion is celebrated, not just acknowledged, and we know this is possible by expressing these stories. Students can learn more about themselves and others while promoting greater understanding and inclusion, making Project Flaunt so much more than only a place for creativity.

Bullying Prevention Activities

To promote SEL activities for families and a social emotional learning program for educators, schools are able to become environments that are more inclusive. Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It founder Meg Zucker additionally offers speaking engagements to further our mission. This program is designed to help kids and teens build self-confidence, empathy and healthy relationship skills.

We work with community organizations, summer camps, faith-based organizations, and other non-profits.

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.
