At Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It, we further our cause of acceptance and understanding through SEL programs for educators. Schools should be places where students don’t just gain knowledge but also feel appreciated, and celebrated for who they are, and this is something we believe in strongly at Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It. As an organization dedicated to promoting inclusion, we provide educators with practical tools to assist students connecting with one another through social-emotional learning, or SEL activities. These activities are essential in building welcoming environments where every student can thrive.

Inclusion And Belonging Activities

By providing social emotional learning programs for students, we can make a real difference in the lives of students. Students are able to benefit from our social-emotional learning, or SEL activities in a variety of ways, such as managing emotions, building healthy relationships, and making responsible decisions. While a large number of students connect with each other on the surface during school, they may require some encouragement to really connect on a deeper level. One of the best ways to do that is by encouraging them to open up about their personal stories. Helping students see the world through someone else’s eyes through storytelling to enable them to bond is something we highlight at Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It. This is an example of the real power of inclusion programs.

When you teach students to not only understand but to embrace the differences between us, it fosters an environment of kindness and inclusion. This has an effect of directly reducing incidents of bullying. Students are empowered to provide one another with support as a result of the implementation of SEL programs. This makes them a strategy that’s highly effective for schools trying to create a learning environment that is safer and more respectful. Understanding and celebrating the things that make us different ensures that each student feels valued and accepted, helping to prevent the isolation that often leads to bullying.
