We strive to make a real difference in the lives of students by offering an inclusion program for summer camps. Students can benefit from our social-emotional learning, or SEL activities in a variety of ways, such as managing emotions, building healthy relationships, and making informed choices. A large number of students only get to know each other on the surface, but going deeper is so much more essential. There’s a large number of ways to achieve this, including sharing personal stories. She was born with a genetic condition called ectrodactyly and has committed her life to helping others embrace their differences the way she has. She has had a legal career that has spanned decades and has devoted herself personally to building understanding and inclusion wherever and whenever possible. These experiences have enabled her uplift individuals to embrace the things that make them different. Motivating adults and children alike to embrace their true selves and celebrate what makes them extraordinary is what her leadership and vision is based on.

This is the reason we urge these discussions. These conversations are about honoring differences, not just embracing them. Recognizing that differences are something to be confident of is part of this program. We hold the belief that everybody’s story deserves to be shared.

Get To Know You Activities For The Classroom

Project Flaunt is one of our primary initiatives, offering acceptance activities for elementary school . Through the Project Flaunt Hub, participants are able to submit stories, artwork, or photos that showcase their individuality. We create a safe space for celebrating the things that make them distinct and offer them the chance to motivate others while they’re at it. By expressing these stories, we can support making classrooms places where inclusion is honored, not simply accepted. While Project Flaunt is a creative outlet, it’s additionally so much more than that. Students can promote greater understanding and inclusion while learning about themselves and others.

This program is designed to help kids and teens build self-confidence, empathy and healthy relationship skills.

Community Programs

We work with community organizations, summer camps, faith-based organizations, and other non-profits.

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.
