A Belonging Program

Advancing belonging workshop for summer camps lies at the heart of DHIFI’s mission. We concentrate on enhancing the youth’s abilities for emotional understanding, establishing positive goals, cultivating empathic interactions, strengthening relationships, and making informed decisions. At DHIFI, we broaden SEL’s scope by motivating students to take pride in their distinctive qualities with programs that highlight individualism.

  • Sharing narratives: Encouraging students to share their stories builds their self-esteem and breaks down the societal constructs that frequently cause bullying.
  • Showcasing uniqueness: Our teachings confirm that distinctive features are beneficial resources, not faults.

Acceptance Activities For Elementary School

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.
