By promoting a social emotional learning curriculum for educators at Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It, we try to further our cause of acceptance and understanding. At Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It, we strongly believe that schools should be places where students don’t just learn but also feel valued, seen, and celebrated for who they are. We offer educators provide teachers with practical tools to assist students in connecting with one another through social-emotional learning, or SEL activities as an organization committed to promoting inclusion. These activities are essential in creating inclusive environments where every student is able to succeed.

Inclusion Programs

We strive to make a real difference in the lives of students by offering inclusivity workshops for students. Our social-emotional learning, or SEL activities are designed to help students handle emotions, develop healthy relationships, and make responsible decisions. While many students connect with each other on the surface during school, they may need some encouragement to truly connect on a more meaningful level. Encouraging them to share personal stories is among the best ways. We emphasize using storytelling as a way for students to bond at Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It. This way they can see the world through someone else’s eyes. This is an example of the real power of a SEL curriculum.

DHIFI knows how important it is to empower children with disabilities, which is why we’re a proponent of an inclusion and belonging program for organizations and empathy building activities kids . When young people with disabilities are empowered, they feel a sense of belonging, which is crucial for their growth and self-esteem. This program is designed to help kids and teens build self-confidence, empathy and healthy relationship skills.

We work with community organizations, summer camps, faith-based organizations, and other non-profits.

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.
