The belief that schools should be places where students feel appreciated, and acknowledged for who they are in addition to being centers of education is our firm belief at DHIFI. We offer educators provide educators with practical tools to help students connect with one another through social-emotional learning, or SEL activities as an organization dedicated to advancing inclusion. Students are able to benefit from our social-emotional learning, or SEL activities in a variety of ways, like managing emotions, developing healthy relationships, and making informed decisions. We know how important it is for students to connect with one another beyond the surface. Encouraging them to open up about personal stories is one of the best ways. We focus on using storytelling as a way for students to connect at Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It. This way they can view the world through the eyes of someone else. DHIFI knows how important it is to empower children with disabilities, which is why we’re a proponent of a SEL curriculum for students and welcome activity ideas kids . Born with a genetic condition called ectrodactyly, Meg has celebrated her individuality and devoted her life to assisting others in doing the same. With a legal career stretching over decades and a personal devotion to building empathy and acceptance, she has used her experiences to empower individuals to embrace their differences. Inspiring adults and children alike to live authentically and embrace what makes them extraordinary is what her leadership and vision is based on.

To promote welcome activities for students ? Dialogue and self-expression is capable of being promoted in many different ways as part of our program. Whether through small group discussions, creative writing prompts, or art projects, our SEL activities give students the opportunity to share their individuality and create connections with their peers. By providing these opportunities, we support the creation of environments where students are capable of creating meaningful relationships built on understanding and empathy.

Bullying Prevention Training For Students

Assisting schools in incorporating inclusion activities for schools into their core curriculum is something we’re committed about. It’s not enough to teach acceptance in isolated lessons — we believe it needs to be woven into the fabric of every classroom. Our Inclusion programs are focused on helping educators in building a culture of belonging by equipping them with the required tools and resources. By providing educators with the proper resources and guidance that our Inclusion programs provide, we can create a culture of belonging where students are capable of expressing whatever makes them unique comfortably. We encourage educators to engage students in meaningful discussions about Inclusion, and inclusion, allowing them to think on how differences such as race, ability, gender, and background shape individual experiences. These conversations are about honoring differences, not just embracing them. Our programs help students understand that their differences are something to be proud of and that everybody’s story deserves to be shared and valued.

Get To Know You Activities For Families

To promote self acceptance activity ideas elementary school is Project Flaunt’s goal, one of our signature initiatives. The Project Flaunt Hub offers participants the chance to showcase their individuality through photos, stories, or artwork. We foster a safe space for embracing the things that make them unique and offer them the opportunity to encourage others while they’re at it. Project Flaunt is more than only a place for creativity — it’s a chance for students to learn about themselves and each other, fostering greater inclusion and understanding.

Bullying Awareness Activities

An online interactive platform for SEL activities for students , Project Flaunt is additionally an initiative of Don’t Hide It Flaunt It. Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It founder Meg Zucker also offers speaking engagements to further our mission. By accepting what makes each of us unique, we can create stronger, more inclusive communities where each student feels empowered to flaunt who they are.

This program is designed to help kids and teens build self-confidence, empathy and healthy relationship skills.

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.
