Disability Awareness Training For Educators

Together with SEL, assisting schools in integrating inclusion programs for universities into their core curriculum is an important part of our goal. By equipping educators with the proper guidance and resources that our Inclusion programs provide, we can build a culture of belonging where students are capable of flaunting whatever makes them unique with confidence. Engaging students in important discussions about Inclusion, and inclusion can help them reflect how individual experiences are shaped by differences like ability, race, background, and gender. This is why we encourage these discussions. Actively honoring differences, not only accepting them, is what these conversations are all about. This way, students can understand that everybody’s story deserves to be shared and appreciated, and that their differences are something to be proud of with these programs.

Testimonials

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.
