As an organization committed to advancing inclusion, we offer teachers practical tools to assist students connecting with one another through social-emotional learning, or SEL activities. When it comes to building welcoming environments where every student are capable of thriving, these activities are essential.

Social Emotional Learning Program

We strive to make a real difference in the lives of students by providing SEL programs for educators. Students can benefit from our social-emotional learning, or SEL activities in a variety of ways, such as managing emotions, developing healthy relationships, and making responsible decisions. We know how important it is for students to get to know one another beyond the surface. One of the best ways to achieve this is by giving them the support they need to share their personal stories. Helping students view the world through someone else’s eyes through storytelling to enable them to bond is something we emphasize at Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It. This is an example of the real power of an inclusion program.

DHIFI knows how important it is to empower children with disabilities, which is the reason we’re a proponent of SEL programs for organizations and acceptance activities for families . Motivating adults and children alike to embrace their true selves and accept what makes them special is what her vision and leadership is based on.

This is the reason we urge these discussions. These conversations are about honoring differences, not just accepting them. This way, students are able to recognize that everybody’s story deserves to be heard and valued, and that their differences are something to be proud of with these programs.

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.
