Meg and her husband, both with a unusual genetic condition affecting their limbs, have three children, with two of them having inherited the condition, creating a family deeply aware of the importance of accepting visible differences. From its inception, DHIFI has flourished into a vibrant community, inspiring schools, families, and individuals to openly celebrate their differences, turning perceived obstacles into springboards for empowerment and growth.

There’s a large number of reasons why we stand out at DHIFI for a social emotional learning curriculum for schools. In addition, at the forefront of our efforts at DHIFI are inclusion and belonging programs that add richness to educational experiences and create an inclusive atmosphere.:

  • Advocating for benevolence: Understanding each other helps make the environment inhospitable for bullying.
  • Cultivating empathy: By assisting students in viewing the world through others’ perspectives, we lessen the likelihood of behaviors that are exclusionary.
