Don’t Hide It Flaunt it aims to help students celebrate the things that make them unique with the promotion of disability awareness workshops for universities. At Don’t Hide It Flaunt It (DHIFI), we have a strong belief in the power of accepting uniqueness and building environments where all people is capable of feeling recognized, valued and heard. Through our range of programs, our goal is to promote inclusion, empathy, and personal growth for individuals of all backgrounds.

An Inclusion Program Program

We believe that inclusion and belonging curriculum for students can truly make a difference in the world. Social Emotional Learning is a core part of DHIFI’s work. SEL gives individuals – students in particular – with the resources to understand and control their emotions, build strong social connections, and improve decision-making skills. Increasing awareness of how others experience the world, encouraging team building and fostering better communication are just a few advantages of SEL activities. The social skills needed for personal success and scholastic success can be laid with these activities as they help build stronger connections. In addition to social emotional learning activities, we also focus on a inclusion curriculum for students. At DHIFI, we work hard to ensure that everybody feels included, no matter no matter what their gender, race, background, or abilities happen to be. Our programming is ideal for schools, corporate settings, and community groups, with interactive formats that tackle an array of topics.

Anti-Bullying Programs Disability Education Workshop For Schools

Central to our mission at DHIFI is our commitment on anti-bullying initiatives for military families. A failure in understanding and acceptance of differences is a common cause of bullying. We aim to address bullying’s core issues and ensure students are equipped with tools to stand up against it in their everyday lives. This is done via interactive program and candid discussions. Providing students with the tools and awareness needed to spot behaviors of bullying around them and to stand against them, we strongly emphasize kindness, empathy, and respect. These programs raise awareness as well as create environments that are safer and more supportive for all by equipping students to become advocates for change. This program is designed to help kids and teens build self-confidence, empathy and healthy relationship skills.

We work with community organizations, summer camps, faith-based organizations, and other non-profits.

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.
