By highlighting the importance of respecting differences, we’re able to assist students in developing a sense of responsibility towards creating a community that’s free of bullying. Disability Awareness Programs For Organizations

At DHIFI, we’re dedicated to advancing our mission with disability education training for students in a variety of ways.

  • School Programs: Inclusion and SEL education are integrated into the curriculum through our programs for schools. Students are engaged in substantive discussions regarding respect and acceptance through these programs, which include classroom activities, workshops, and assemblies.
  • Community Programs: We extend our reach beyond schools by working with community organizations, summer camps, faith-based groups, and other non-profits. These programs aim to build inclusive communities that promote understanding and celebrate inclusion.
  • Corporate Programs: We provide Inclusion, and Belonging presentations and training sessions that help companies create workplaces that are more inclusive as part of our goal of expanding our reach to the business sector. During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.
