At DHIFI, we’re committed to promoting tolerance and mutual respect through inclusion and belonging curriculum for elementary schools. Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It (DHIFI) believes that embracing and acknowledging our unique differences is an act that’s incredibly powerful. Through engaging activities and programs, promoting acceptance, understanding, tolerance, and mutual respect for observable and invisible differences is our mission.

An Inclusion Curriculum

At the heart the work we do at DHIFI is Social Emotional Learning (SEL). We’ve developed programs for children and teens to make sure they receive the assistance they require to experience relationships that are healthier, increased empathy, and self-confidence. We offer an array of SEL activities tailored to foster an inclusive environment in schools, communities, and corporate settings. These activities motivate students to understand and appreciate their own and others’ one of a kind characteristics, promoting a culture of empathy and acceptance. Inclusion Programs For Students

At DHIFI, a inclusion program for educators is something we take very seriously. At DHIFI, our belief is that feeling valued and respected is something everyone deserves, which is why we aim to create spaces that are more inclusive through our inclusion programs. The value of inclusion is highlighted in the presentations and workshops we deliver, available for community organizations, schools, and corporations. From things you can see such as physical disabilities to invisible ones such as learning disabilities and mental health issues, many different aspects of inclusion are addressed in our programs.

Disability Support Programs

We are dedicated to providing anti-bullying training for educators at DHIFI. Many have unfortunately experienced the prevalence of bullying in so many educational settings. By promoting empathy and understanding among students with anti-bullying activities, we can make significant progress against this. Bullying behavior isn’t just capable of being recognized but also addressed with the strategies and tools we provide. This assists in creating an environment that is safer and more supportive. Students are given the help they need to develop a sense of responsibility towards creating a bully-free community by highlighting the importance of respecting differences. Social Emotional Learning Programs School Assemblies

Through engaging school assemblies, Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It delivers social-emotional learning programs by sparking emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and meaningful connection. Whether themed around anti-bullying, disability support, or inclusivity, each assembly challenges students to see themselves – and their peers – in a different perspective. We use meaningful narratives, engaging dialogues, and self-exploration to guide young people to accept their individuality and recognize what makes each person unique. They do more than teaching by sparking real student-led change and encouraging a lasting inclusive culture in school communities. Looking to bring this powerful program to your students?

Disability Acceptance Workshop For Students

We advance our mission of SEL programs for students in a variety of ways at DHIFI.

  • School Programs: SEL and inclusion education are integrated into the curriculum through our programs for schools. Students are engaged in substantive discussions about respect and acceptance through these programs, which include workshops, classroom activities, and assemblies.
  • Community Programs: In addition to schools, we collaborate with community organizations, summer camps, faith-based groups, and other non-profits. What these programs work towards is building communities where understanding is promoted so that inclusion can be celebrated.
  • Corporate Programs: In the business sector, we offer Inclusion, and Belonging presentations and training sessions that assist companies in creating more inclusive workplaces. The specific needs of each organization are taken into consideration with these programs. A culture of respect and acceptance among employees is what these programs promote.

Our goal at DHIFI is to inspire individuals to embrace their unique differences and encourage the development of a culture of inclusion and empathy. Through our social emotional learning activities, empathy building activities families , inclusion programs, and anti-bullying activities, we strive to create environments where everybody feels valued and respected.

Testimonials

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.

When the U.S. Embassy in Israel hosted Meg Zucker as a Distinguished American Speaker in 2015, the audiences she spoke and met with were deeply inspired by her personal story, her effective advocacy, and the early success of Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It.  Her appearance made a huge impact with advocates for inclusion and acceptance which still resonates today with those who met her.

Daniel Shapiro

former U.S. Ambassador to Israel

Meg is an energetic and engaging speaker who inspires all who meet her with her life story of growing up with a blatant physical difference and parenting kids who share her difference.   Her message of “the things that make me different make me, me” is heartfelt and impactful and resonates with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.  Meg’s mission of building acceptance, tolerance, and empathy is more important now than ever before.  Everyone who has the pleasure of hearing Meg’s story and her vision will be better for it.
