Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is at the center of our efforts. Developing empathy, self-confidence, and healthy relationship skills for children and teens is what our programs are all about. We offer an array of SEL activities tailored to foster an inclusive environment in communities, schools, and business settings. SEL Activities For Students

Inclusion Program For Communities

We take inclusivity workshops for organizations very seriously at DHIFI. Everybody deserves to feel respected and valued. The inclusion programs we offer are designed to achieve this by creating inclusive spaces. The importance of inclusion is highlighted in the presentations and workshops we deliver, available for community organizations, schools, and businesses. Many different aspects of inclusion are addressed in our programs. This includes both things you can see like physical disabilities and mental health issues and learning disabilities which often go unseen.

Anti-Bullying Curriculum

At DHIFI, we’re committed to providing bullying prevention training for the workplace. In educational settings of all kinds, bullying continues to be a major problem. We strive to promote understanding and empathy among students, believing this problem can be combated. We provide tools and strategies to help students recognize and address behavior of bullying, fostering an environment that is built on safety and support. Students are given the help they need to develop a sense of responsibility towards creating a bully-free community by highlighting the importance of respecting differences. Bullying Prevention Training For Schools

At DHIFI, we advance our mission with social emotional learning workshops for students in many ways.

  • School Programs: Our school programs are crafted to integrate SEL and inclusion education into the curriculum. Students are engaged in substantive discussions about respect and acceptance through these programs, which include classroom activities, workshops, and assemblies.
  • Community Programs: We extend our reach beyond schools by working with community organizations, summer camps, faith-based groups, and other non-profits. The main objective of these programs is building communities where understanding is promoted so that inclusion is capable of being celebrated.
  • Corporate Programs: We offer Inclusion presentations and training sessions that help companies create workplaces that are more inclusive as part of our goal of expanding our reach to the corporate sector. During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.
