A Belonging Curriculum

Promoting an SEL curriculum is among the cornerstones of DHIFI’s efforts. We’ve created programs for children and teens to make certain they receive the help they require to experience relationships that are healthier, increased empathy, and self-confidence. Disability Education Curriculum For Companies

We advance our mission of disability acceptance workshop for students in a variety of ways at DHIFI.

  • School Programs: SEL and inclusion education are integrated into the curriculum through our school programs. Students are engaged in meaningful discussions concerning respect and acceptance through these programs, which include workshops, classroom activities, and assemblies.
  • Community Programs: In addition to schools, we collaborate with summer camps, community organizations, faith-based groups, and other non-profits. Having communities that are inclusive that celebrate inclusion and promote understanding is the goal of these programs.
  • Corporate Programs: Our goal is to expand our reach to the corporate sector as well. To achieve this, Inclusion presentations and training sessions are provided so that more inclusive workspaces can be created by companies. A culture of respect and acceptance among employees is promoted through these programs which are tailored to each organization’s specific needs.

Inspiring individuals to embrace their unique differences and encourage the development of a culture of inclusion and empathy is DHIFI’s goal. During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience.
