Disability Education Program For Universities

We advance our mission of disability acceptance programs for middle schools in many ways at DHIFI.

  • School Programs: Our school programs are crafted to integrate SEL and inclusion education into the curriculum. These programs include classroom activities, workshops, and assemblies that engage students in meaningful discussions about respect and acceptance.
  • Community Programs: Together with schools, we collaborate with summer camps, community organizations, faith-based groups, and other non-profits. Having communities that are inclusive that celebrate inclusion and promote understanding is the goal of these programs.
  • Corporate Programs: We offer Inclusion, and Belonging presentations and training sessions that help companies create workplaces that are more inclusive as part of our goal of expanding our reach to the business sector. A culture of acceptance and respect among employees is promoted through these programs which are tailored to the specific needs of each organization.

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.
