Learn More About The Power of Inclusion And Belonging Activities

Promoting disability awareness curriculum for educators to foster tolerance and acceptance is what we’re all about at DHIFI. DHIFI’s vision is a society that doesn’t just acknowledge but celebrates each child’s individuality actively. Our mission is to give children and adolescents the confidence they need to embrace their individuality and stand proudly with confidence. Helping young people develop into individuals who are compassionate and confident is the focus of the work we do. To this end, our offerings include a wide range of programs for schools, universities, communities, and corporate settings.

Inclusion And Belonging Curriculum

Core to the mission at DHIFI is the promotion of a SEL program for schools. This entails giving younger individuals instruction regarding goal-setting, emotional intelligence, relationship-building, empathy, and making better choices. We magnify SEL’s impact at DHIFI by urging learners to be proud of the things that make them unique, supported by educational offerings that emphasize broadening the reach of SEL, inspiring students to take pride in their uniqueness, supported by endeavors that include:

  • Narrative exchange: Students boost their self-confidence and dismantle social boundaries that commonly lead to bullying, by recounting the stories of their own lives.
  • Accentuating distinctiveness: We enlighten students that their different characteristics are merits rather than inadequacies.

As part of our mission, we endorse for self-acceptance and the acceptance of others, nurture respect for people from a variety of backgrounds, and make sure everybody feels they belong, despite their differences.

Disability Awareness Workshop For Students

DHIFI, created by Meg Zucker, is more than a nonprofit; it’s the realization of a personal journey toward self-acceptance. Harnessing the collective experiences of their family with conspicuous differences, Meg and her husband-who share an unusual genetic condition-have inspired DHIFI to become a community where celebrating differences is completely normal. DHIFI began as an idea’s seed and has since grown into a vibrant community, where families and educational institutions are given the encouragement they need to celebrate their differences, transforming potential barriers into empowering opportunities. To further our mission, speaking engagements are also given by DHIFI founder Meg Zucker. Discover more by getting in touch with us today.

Disability Education School Assemblies

Through transformative school assemblies, Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It showcases social emotional learning programs by sparking emotional intelligence, reflection, and deep connection. Every assembly, whether rooted in anti-bullying, disability support, or inclusivity, motivates students to recognize both their personal identity and the individuality in others. We use meaningful narratives, participatory conversations, and reflection activities to guide young people to accept their individuality and honor what makes each person special. They do more than education by fueling real student-led change and developing a lasting inclusive culture in school communities. Hoping to bring this impactful program to your students?

Testimonials

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.

When the U.S. Embassy in Israel hosted Meg Zucker as a Distinguished American Speaker in 2015, the audiences she spoke and met with were deeply inspired by her personal story, her effective advocacy, and the early success of Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It.  Her appearance made a huge impact with advocates for inclusion and acceptance which still resonates today with those who met her.

Daniel Shapiro

former U.S. Ambassador to Israel

Meg is an energetic and engaging speaker who inspires all who meet her with her life story of growing up with a blatant physical difference and parenting kids who share her difference.   Her message of “the things that make me different make me, me” is heartfelt and impactful and resonates with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.  Meg’s mission of building acceptance, tolerance, and empathy is more important now than ever before.  Everyone who has the pleasure of hearing Meg’s story and her vision will be better for it.
