An Inclusion Program Program

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is at the center of our efforts. Our programs are designed to help children and teens build self-confidence, empathy, and skills for healthy relationships. A variety of SEL activities tailored to foster an inclusive environment in communities, and corporate settings are capable of being found at DHIFI. To promote a culture of empathy and acceptance, students are motivated to appreciate and understand the qualities that make themselves and others unique with these activities. Disability Education Initiatives For Organizations

At DHIFI, we’re dedicated to advancing our mission with social emotional learning activities for students in many ways.

  • School Programs: SEL and inclusion education are integrated into the curriculum through our programs for schools. These programs include classroom activities, workshops, and assemblies where students are engaged in meaningful discussions concerning respect and acceptance.
  • Community Programs: We aim to extend our reach beyond school environments by working with community organizations, summer camps, faith-based groups, and other non-profits. The main objective of these programs is building communities where understanding is promoted so that inclusion can be celebrated.
  • Corporate Programs: We provide Inclusion, and Belonging presentations and training sessions that assist companies in creating more inclusive workplaces as part of our goal of expanding our reach to the business sector. During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.
