From things you can see including physical disabilities to ones you can’t see including learning disabilities and mental health issues, our programs address many different sides to inclusion.

Disability Support Program

We’re dedicated to supplying bullying awareness activities for summer camps at DHIFI. Many have unfortunately experienced the prevalence of bullying in so many educational settings. Our anti-bullying activities strive to fight this issue by promoting empathy and understanding among students. Our aim is fostering an environment that’s safer and more supportive by supplying strategies and tools to help students not only recognize but address bullying behavior. When the importance of respecting differences is highlighted, a feeling of responsibility is developed in students that results in them creating a community that is free of bullies. Bullying Awareness School Assemblies

Our school assemblies at Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It turn SEL programs into vibrant experiences that build empathy, kindness, and interpersonal awareness. Whether focused on bullying prevention, disability support, or inclusion, each assembly invites students to see themselves – and their peers – in a new light. By integrating personal narrative, interactive conversation, and thought-provoking activities, we enable students to value their own individual traits and those of others. They extend past teaching by sparking genuine student action and encouraging sustained belonging in school communities. Excited to introduce this transformative experience to your school?

Disability Education Activities

At DHIFI, we advance our mission with a belonging program for universities in a variety of ways.

  • School Programs: Inclusion and SEL education are integrated into the curriculum through our school programs. Workshops, classroom activities, and assemblies are just several of the ways we work to engage students in substantive discussions surrounding topics including respect and acceptance.
  • Community Programs: Together with schools, we collaborate with summer camps, community organizations, faith-based groups, and other non-profits. What these programs work towards is building communities where understanding is promoted so that inclusion can be celebrated.
  • Corporate Programs: Our goal is to expand our reach to the corporate sector as well. To this end, Inclusion, and Belonging presentations and training sessions are provided so that more inclusive workspaces can be created by companies. A culture of acceptance and respect among employees is something these programs promote which are tailored to the specific needs of each organization.

Inspiring individuals to embrace their unique differences and foster an inclusive and empathic culture is DHIFI’s goal. We work hard to create environments where everybody feels valued and respected with the help of our social emotional learning activities, social emotional activities for middle school , inclusion programs, and anti-bullying activities.

Testimonials

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.

When the U.S. Embassy in Israel hosted Meg Zucker as a Distinguished American Speaker in 2015, the audiences she spoke and met with were deeply inspired by her personal story, her effective advocacy, and the early success of Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It.  Her appearance made a huge impact with advocates for inclusion and acceptance which still resonates today with those who met her.

Daniel Shapiro

former U.S. Ambassador to Israel

Meg is an energetic and engaging speaker who inspires all who meet her with her life story of growing up with a blatant physical difference and parenting kids who share her difference.   Her message of “the things that make me different make me, me” is heartfelt and impactful and resonates with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.  Meg’s mission of building acceptance, tolerance, and empathy is more important now than ever before.  Everyone who has the pleasure of hearing Meg’s story and her vision will be better for it.
