Discover The Power of Inclusion Programs for Universities

Fostering acceptance and tolerance with disability acceptance initiatives for educators is what we’re all about at Don’t Hide It Flaunt It. DHIFI’s vision is a community that doesn’t merely acknowledge but actively celebrates every child’s individuality. Our mission is to give adolescents and children the confidence they need to accept their unique characteristics and stand proudly with confidence. The work we do helps young people develop into individuals who are confident and compassionate. We develop initiatives for a variety of institutions, including schools, higher education centers, local businesses and communities.

Inclusion And Belonging Curriculum

Promoting social emotional learning programs for corporations lies at the heart of DHIFI’s mission. Our aim is to teach young minds how to navigate their emotions, come up with positive goals, express empathy, cultivate meaningful relationships, and make responsible decisions. At DHIFI, we broaden SEL’s scope by motivating students to take pride in their special characteristics with programs that highlight individualism.

  • Story sharing: By sharing the experiences they’ve had with others, students gain confidence and address the barriers that many times result in bullying.
  • Accentuating distinctiveness: We enlighten students that their different traits are advantages rather than inadequacies.

Championing the acceptance of one’s self and the acceptance of others, promoting respect for various backgrounds, and ensuring a feeling of belonging for everyone, no matter their individuality, are integral parts of our goal.

Social Emotional Activities For Students

To promote social emotional learning activity ideas elementary school , Don’t Hide It Flaunt It has also created Project Flaunt, an interactive online platform. We believe students can be empowered and learn self acceptance by fostering more inclusive environments and celebrating the things that make us unique. We believe that when students are encouraged to flaunt their unique experiences and qualities, the result is increased empathy and confidence among peers. This is what this initiative is all about. The program offers various resources and activities designed to integrate into school curricula, emphasizing social-emotional learning (SEL) and inclusion. For schools looking to ensure every student feels accepted and valued, a supportive and understanding community can be created with the implementation of these activities. Disability Support Workshops For Schools

DHIFI, created by Meg Zucker, isn’t just a nonprofit; it’s the embodiment of a personal journey toward self-acceptance. Tapping into their family’s collective experiences with conspicuous differences, Meg and her husband-who share an unusual genetic condition-have inspired DHIFI to become a community where sharing differences is completely normal. DHIFI started as an idea’s seed and in the time that has followed has blossomed into a vibrant community, where educational institutions and families are encouraged to celebrate the things that make them different, transforming potential barriers into empowering opportunities. To further our mission, speaking engagements are also given by Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It founder Meg Zucker. Get in touch with us today to discover more.

Testimonials

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.

When the U.S. Embassy in Israel hosted Meg Zucker as a Distinguished American Speaker in 2015, the audiences she spoke and met with were deeply inspired by her personal story, her effective advocacy, and the early success of Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It.  Her appearance made a huge impact with advocates for inclusion and acceptance which still resonates today with those who met her.

Daniel Shapiro

former U.S. Ambassador to Israel

Meg is an energetic and engaging speaker who inspires all who meet her with her life story of growing up with a blatant physical difference and parenting kids who share her difference.   Her message of “the things that make me different make me, me” is heartfelt and impactful and resonates with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.  Meg’s mission of building acceptance, tolerance, and empathy is more important now than ever before.  Everyone who has the pleasure of hearing Meg’s story and her vision will be better for it.
