Our mission at DHIFI is to encourage acceptance and tolerance with the help of inclusivity curriculum for organizations. Every child’s individuality is something that should be celebrated, and this is something we believe in wholeheartedly at DHIFI. Our mission is to give children and adolescents the confidence they need to embrace their individuality and stand proudly with confidence. Helping young people develop into confident and compassionate individuals is the focus of the work we do. We provide a inclusion of programs for schools, universities, communities, and corporate settings to this end.

A Social Emotional Learning Curriculum

Core to DHIFI’s mission is the advancement of an inclusion program for students. Our aim is to teach young minds the ways to process their emotions, set constructive goals, express empathy, cultivate meaningful relationships, and make responsible decisions. We magnify the impact of SEL at DHIFI by urging learners to be proud of the things that make them unique, supported by offerings for education that emphasize expanding the reach of SEL, encouraging students to take pride in their uniqueness, which is reinforced by endeavors that include:

  • Sharing narratives: Encouraging students to tell their stories builds their self-esteem and breaks down the societal constructs that regularly result in bullying.
  • Emphasizing individuality: We teach that differences are assets to be valued, not deficits.

We champion the championing yourself an others and others and foster individual respect from different walks of life, guaranteeing everyone knows they have a place, regardless of the differences they have.

Acceptance Activity Ideas For Families

At Don’t Hide It Flaunt It, we have additionally created the Project Flaunt Hub, an online interactive platform for SEL activity ideas families . Project Flaunt strives to empower students through the celebration of differences, promoting self-acceptance, and ensuring school environments are more inclusive. We believe that when students are encouraged to flaunt their unique qualities and experiences, the result is increased confidence and empathy among peers. This is what this initiative is all about. Bullying Prevention Training For Schools

DHIFI, created by Meg Zucker, is more than a nonprofit; it’s the embodiment of a personal journey toward self-acceptance. Meg and her husband, both with a unique genetic condition impacting their limbs, have three children, two of whom inherited the condition, creating a family deeply attuned to the importance of accepting noticeable differences. This program is designed to help kids and teens build self-confidence, empathy and healthy relationship skills.

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.
