Learn About The Benefits of an Inclusion Curriculum for Organizations

Promoting a social emotional learning curriculum for educators to foster acceptance and tolerance is our mission at DHIFI. Each child’s individuality is something to be celebrated, and this is something we believe in strongly at DHIFI. Our mission is to give adolescents and children the confidence they need to accept their unique characteristics and stand proudly with confidence. The work we do helps young people grow into compassionate and confident individuals. To this end, our offerings include a wide range of programs for schools, universities, corporate settings and communities.

SEL Activities

At the core of DHIFI is our dedication to a social emotional learning curriculum for students. This entails giving younger individuals instruction regarding emotional intelligence, goal-setting, relationship-building, empathy, and wise decision-making. We amplify the impact of SEL at DHIFI by encouraging learners to be proud of their individualism, sustained by offerings for education that concentrate on growing the reach of SEL, encouraging students to feel pride when it comes to their individuality, which is reinforced by endeavors that include:

  • Story sharing: By sharing their personal experiences, students gain confidence and address the barriers that often lead to bullying.
  • Accentuating individuality: We educate students that their diverse qualities are merits rather than inadequacies.

Included in our mission, we advocate for self-acceptance and the acceptance of others, foster respect for people from various backgrounds, and ensure everyone feels they belong, no matter their differences.

Self Acceptance Activities For Middle School

At Don’t Hide It Flaunt It, we have also created the Project Flaunt Hub, an interactive online platform for SEL activity ideas elementary school . Project Flaunt aims to empower students through the celebration of the things that make us unique, promoting self-acceptance, and ensuring school environments are more inclusive. By encouraging students to flaunt their unique experiences and qualities, the initiative seeks to build empathy and confidence among peers. The program provides various activities and resources designed to integrate into school curricula, emphasizing inclusion and social-emotional learning (SEL). To create a understanding and supportive community where every student feels valued and accepted, schools should consider implementing these activities. Disability Support Workshops For Schools

Thinking about DHIFI for a belonging program for educators? Our organization, established by Meg Zucker, was created from an individual journey and is focused on the promotion of acceptance of one’s self. Tapping into their family’s collective experiences with conspicuous differences, Meg and her husband-who share a rare genetic condition-have inspired DHIFI to grow into a community where celebrating differences is completely normal. DHIFI began as an idea’s seed and has since grown into a vibrant community, where educational institutions and families are encouraged to celebrate their differences, transforming potential barriers into opportunities for empowerment. DHIFI founder Meg Zucker additionally offers speaking engagements to further our mission. Get in touch with us today to discover more.

Testimonials

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.

When the U.S. Embassy in Israel hosted Meg Zucker as a Distinguished American Speaker in 2015, the audiences she spoke and met with were deeply inspired by her personal story, her effective advocacy, and the early success of Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It.  Her appearance made a huge impact with advocates for inclusion and acceptance which still resonates today with those who met her.

Daniel Shapiro

former U.S. Ambassador to Israel

Meg is an energetic and engaging speaker who inspires all who meet her with her life story of growing up with a blatant physical difference and parenting kids who share her difference.   Her message of “the things that make me different make me, me” is heartfelt and impactful and resonates with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.  Meg’s mission of building acceptance, tolerance, and empathy is more important now than ever before.  Everyone who has the pleasure of hearing Meg’s story and her vision will be better for it.
