SEL Programs

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is at the heart of our efforts. Developing self-confidence, empathy, and healthy relationship skills for children and teens is what our programs are all about. We offer a variety of SEL activities tailored to foster an inclusive environment in schools, communities, and business settings. To promote a culture of empathy and acceptance, students are motivated to appreciate and understand the qualities that make themselves and others special with activities like these. Icebreaker Activities For Students

Inclusion Activities For Military Families

We take social emotional learning programs for organizations very seriously at DHIFI. Our inclusion programs at DHIFI are crafted to create inclusive spaces where everyone feels respected and valued. We deliver presentations and workshops highlighting how important inclusion is to a well functioning society by working with community organizations, schools, and businesses. We aim to promote empathy and understanding among students, believing this issue is capable of being combated. Bullying behavior isn’t just capable of being recognized but additionally addressed with the tools and strategies we provide. This assists in creating an environment that is built on support and safety. When the importance of respecting differences is emphasized, a feeling of responsibility is developed in students that leads them to create a community that is bully-free. Disability Education Workshop For Educators

At DHIFI, we advance our mission with social emotional learning workshop for educators in a variety of ways.

  • School Programs: Our school programs are crafted to integrate inclusion and SEL education into the curriculum. These programs include classroom activities, workshops, and assemblies where students are engaged in substantive discussions concerning acceptance and respect.
  • Community Programs: We extend our reach beyond schools by collaborating with community organizations, summer camps, faith-based groups, and other non-profits. These programs strive to build inclusive communities that celebrate inclusion and promote understanding.
  • Corporate Programs: In the business sector, we offer Inclusion, and Belonging presentations and training sessions that assist companies in creating more inclusive workplaces. Each organization’s needs are taken into account with these programs. A culture of respect and acceptance among employees is what these programs promote.

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.
