Disability Awareness Training For Students

We’re dedicated to advancing our mission of disability support curriculum for organizations in a variety of ways at DHIFI.

  • School Programs: Our programs for schools are designed to integrate SEL and inclusion education into the curriculum. Students are engaged in substantive discussions regarding acceptance and respect through these programs, which include workshops, classroom activities, and assemblies.
  • Community Programs: In addition to schools, we collaborate with summer camps, community organizations, faith-based groups, and other non-profits. What these programs work towards is building communities that promote understanding so that inclusion is capable of being celebrated.
  • Corporate Programs: Our goal is for our reach to expand to the business sector as well. As part of this goal, Inclusion, and Belonging presentations and training sessions are offered so that more inclusive workspaces can be created by companies. These programs are created to address each organization’s specific needs, promoting a culture of acceptance and respect among employees.

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience.
