A Belonging Program

At the heart of our efforts at DHIFI is Social Emotional Learning (SEL). Developing empathy, self-confidence, and healthy relationship skills for children and teens is the objective of our programs. We offer a variety of SEL activities customized to foster an inclusive environment in schools, communities, and corporate settings. These activities encourage students to appreciate and understand their own and others’ one of a kind qualities, promoting a culture of empathy and acceptance. Inclusion Program For Middle Schools

At DHIFI, SEL programs for students is something we take very seriously. Our inclusion programs at DHIFI are designed to create inclusive spaces where everybody feels valued and respected. We deliver workshops and presentations that highlight the importance of inclusion by working with community organizations, schools, and businesses. Various aspects of inclusion are addressed in our programs, from visible differences such as physical disabilities to ones you can’t see including mental health issues and learning disabilities.

Emotional Support Programs

We’re dedicated to supplying emotional support curriculum for universities at DHIFI. In educational settings of all kinds, bullying continues to be a major problem. Our anti-bullying activities strive to fight this issue by promoting empathy and understanding among students. Our objective is to foster a safer and more supportive environment by providing tools and strategies to help students not only recognize but address bullying behavior. When the importance of respecting differences is highlighted, a sense of responsibility is developed in students that results in them creating a community that is free of bullies. Disability Education Workshops For Companies

We advance our mission of inclusion and belonging curriculum for educators in a variety of ways at DHIFI.

  • School Programs: Our school programs are crafted to integrate SEL and inclusion education into the curriculum. Students are engaged in substantive discussions concerning respect and acceptance through these programs, which include workshops, classroom activities, and assemblies.
  • Community Programs: Together with schools, we collaborate with community organizations, summer camps, faith-based groups, and other non-profits. Having inclusive communities that celebrate inclusion and promote understanding is what these programs work towards.
  • Corporate Programs: Our goal is to expand our reach to the corporate sector as well. To this end, Inclusion, and Belonging presentations and training sessions are offered so that workplaces that are more inclusive can be created by companies. A culture of respect and acceptance among employees is promoted through these programs which are tailored to the specific needs of each organization.

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.
