Inclusion And Belonging Curriculum

At the heart the work we do at DHIFI is Social Emotional Learning (SEL). Our programs are designed to help young people develop self-confidence, empathy, and healthy relationship skills. A range of SEL activities customized to foster an inclusive environment in schools, communities, and corporate settings can be found at DHIFI. Social Emotional Learning Program For Military Families

We take empathy-based initiatives for universities very seriously at DHIFI. Everyone deserves to feel valued and respected. Our inclusion programs are crafted to achieve this by creating inclusive spaces. Disability Acceptance Program

At DHIFI, we’re dedicated to advancing our mission with inclusion and belonging initiatives for students in a variety of ways.

  • School Programs: Through our school programs, inclusion and SEL education are integrated into the curriculum. Workshops, classroom activities, and assemblies are simply a few of the ways we work to engage students in substantive discussions regarding topics like respect and acceptance.
  • Community Programs: We extend our reach beyond schools by working with summer camps, community organizations, faith-based groups, and other non-profits. Having inclusive communities that celebrate inclusion and promote understanding is the goal of these programs.
  • Corporate Programs: Our goal is for our reach to expand to the corporate sector as well. To achieve this, Inclusion, and Belonging presentations and training sessions are provided so that more inclusive workspaces are capable of being created by companies. These programs are tailored to address the specific needs of each organization, promoting a culture among employees that’s based acceptance and respect.

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.
