A Belonging Program

At the heart the work we do at DHIFI is Social Emotional Learning (SEL). Developing self-confidence, empathy, and healthy relationship skills for children and teens is the goal of our programs. Disability Support Initiatives For Military Families

At DHIFI, we advance our mission with social emotional learning activities for high schools in a variety of ways.

  • School Programs: Our programs for schools are designed to integrate SEL and inclusion education into the curriculum. Classroom activities, workshops, and assemblies are simply several of the ways students become engaged in substantive discussions surrounding topics including respect and acceptance.
  • Community Programs: Our goal is to extend our reach beyond school environments by working with community organizations, summer camps, faith-based groups, and other non-profits. The main objective of these programs is building communities that promote understanding so that inclusion can be celebrated.
  • Corporate Programs: We provide Inclusion, and Belonging presentations and training sessions that assist companies in creating workplaces that are more inclusive as part of our goal of expanding our reach to the business sector. Each organization’s needs are taken into account with these programs. A culture of respect and acceptance among employees is what these programs promote.

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience.
