An Inclusion Curriculum

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is at the center of what we do. Building self-confidence, empathy, and healthy relationship skills for children and teens is what our programs are all about. A range of SEL activities customized to foster an inclusive environment in communities, and business settings are capable of being found at DHIFI. These activities motivate students to understand and appreciate their own and others’ unique qualities, promoting a culture of empathy and acceptance. At DHIFI, we take inclusion initiatives for students very seriously. DHIFI’s inclusion programs are designed to create inclusive spaces where everyone feels valued and respected. We are committed to supplying bullying prevention curriculum for schools at DHIFI. Many have unfortunately experienced first-hand the prevalence of bullying in so many educational settings. By working to promote empathy and understanding among students with anti-bullying activities, we can make significant progress against this. We provide tools and strategies to help students recognize and address behavior of bullying, fostering a safer and more supportive environment. Students are helped to develop a sense of responsibility towards creating a community that’s free of bullies by highlighting the importance of respecting differences. Disability Awareness Training For Educators

We advance our mission of belonging workshop for educators in many ways at DHIFI.

  • School Programs: Our programs for schools are crafted to integrate inclusion and SEL education into the curriculum. Students are engaged in substantive discussions about acceptance and respect through these programs, which include workshops, classroom activities, and assemblies.
  • Community Programs: Our goal is to extend our reach beyond the classroom by working with community organizations, summer camps, faith-based groups, and other non-profits. These programs strive to build inclusive communities that promote understanding and celebrate inclusion.
  • Corporate Programs: Our goal is to expand our reach to the business sector as well. As part of this goal, Inclusion presentations and training sessions are offered so that workplaces that are more inclusive can be created by companies. These programs are created to address the specific needs of each organization, promoting a culture among employees that’s based acceptance and respect.

Inspiring individuals to embrace their unique differences and foster an inclusive and empathic culture is DHIFI’s goal. During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience.
