Inclusion Programs

At the heart the work we do at DHIFI is Social Emotional Learning (SEL). We’ve developed programs for children and teens to ensure they get the help they need to experience healthy relationships, increased empathy, and a boost to their confidence. We offer a variety of SEL activities tailored to foster an inclusive environment in communities, schools, and corporate settings. These activities encourage students to appreciate and understand their own and others’ distinctive qualities, promoting a culture of empathy and acceptance. Disability Education Curriculum For Students

At DHIFI, we’re dedicated to advancing our mission with social emotional learning activities for organizations in many ways.

  • School Programs: Our school programs are crafted to integrate inclusion and SEL education into the curriculum. These programs include workshops, classroom activities, and assemblies where students are engaged in meaningful discussions concerning respect and acceptance.
  • Community Programs: Our goal is to extend our reach past school environments by collaborating with community organizations, summer camps, faith-based groups, and other non-profits. These programs aim to build inclusive communities that celebrate inclusion and promote understanding.
  • Corporate Programs: Our goal is for our reach to expand to the corporate sector as well. As part of this goal, Inclusion, and Belonging presentations and training sessions are offered so that more inclusive workspaces are capable of being created by companies. A culture of respect and acceptance among employees is something these programs promote which are tailored to the specific needs of each organization.

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.
