Inclusion Activities

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is at the center of our efforts. We have created programs for children and teens to make sure they get the help they need to experience relationships that are healthier, increased empathy, and a boost to their confidence. A range of SEL activities tailored to foster an inclusive environment in schools, communities, and business settings are capable of being found at DHIFI. To foster a culture of acceptance and empathy, students are motivated to appreciate and understand the qualities that make themselves and others unique with these activities. Social Emotional Learning Program For Companies

At DHIFI, SEL programs for students is something we take very seriously. At DHIFI, our belief is that feeling valued and respected is something everybody deserves, which is why we aim to create more inclusive spaces with the help of our inclusion programs. Disability Support Workshop For Companies

At DHIFI, we advance our mission with SEL activities for communities in a variety of ways.

  • School Programs: Through our school programs, inclusion and SEL education are integrated into the curriculum. These programs include workshops, classroom activities, and assemblies where students are engaged in meaningful discussions about respect and acceptance.
  • Community Programs: Together with schools, we collaborate with summer camps, community organizations, faith-based groups, and other non-profits. These programs aim to build inclusive communities that promote understanding and celebrate inclusion.
  • Corporate Programs: Our goal is to expand our reach to the business sector as well. As part of this goal, Inclusion presentations and training sessions are offered so that workplaces that are more inclusive are capable of being created by companies. These programs are created to address each organization’s specific needs, promoting a culture among employees that’s built acceptance and respect.

Inspiring individuals to embrace their unique differences and foster an inclusive and empathic culture is DHIFI’s goal. This program is designed to help kids and teens build self-confidence, empathy and healthy relationship skills.

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.
