A SEL Curriculum

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is at the center of what we do. We have created programs for children and teens to make sure they receive the help they need to experience healthy relationships, increased empathy, and a boost to their confidence. A variety of SEL activities customized to foster an inclusive environment in communities, and corporate settings can be found at DHIFI. Disability Awareness Activities For Universities

At DHIFI, we advance our mission with a SEL program for students in many ways.

  • School Programs: Through our school programs, inclusion and SEL education are integrated into the curriculum. These programs include workshops, classroom activities, and assemblies that engage students in substantive discussions regarding acceptance and respect.
  • Community Programs: In addition to schools, we work with community organizations, summer camps, faith-based groups, and other non-profits. These programs aim to build inclusive communities that celebrate inclusion and promote understanding.
  • Corporate Programs: We aim for our reach to expand to the corporate sector as well. To achieve this, Inclusion, and Belonging presentations and training sessions are provided so that workplaces that are more inclusive can be created by companies. A culture of respect and acceptance among employees is promoted through these programs which are tailored to the specific needs of each organization.

Inspiring individuals to embrace their unique differences and encourage the development of an inclusive and empathic culture is DHIFI’s goal. During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience.
