A SEL Program

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is at the heart of our efforts. Building empathy, self-confidence, and healthy relationship skills for young people is the objective of our programs. A variety of SEL activities customized to foster an inclusive environment in schools, communities, and corporate settings are capable of being found at DHIFI. To promote a culture of empathy and acceptance, students are encouraged to understand and appreciate the qualities that make themselves and others special with these activities. SEL Activities For Students

An Inclusion Program For Companies

We take a SEL program for organizations very seriously at DHIFI. At DHIFI, we believe that everyone deserves to feel respected and valued, which is why we aim to create spaces that are more inclusive with the help of our inclusion programs. The value of inclusion is highlighted in the workshops and presentations we deliver, available for community organizations, schools, and corporations. A variety of aspects of inclusion are addressed in our programs. Disability Awareness Workshop For Companies

We advance our mission of bullying prevention programs for students in many ways at DHIFI.

  • School Programs: Through our programs for schools, SEL and inclusion education are integrated into the curriculum. Students are engaged in meaningful discussions about respect and acceptance through these programs, which include workshops, classroom activities, and assemblies.
  • Community Programs: Our reach extends beyond schools by working with community organizations, summer camps, faith-based groups, and other non-profits. Having communities that are inclusive where diversity is celebrated and understanding promoted is what these programs work towards.
  • Corporate Programs: Our goal is for our reach to expand to the corporate sector as well. To this end, Inclusion presentations and training sessions are offered so that more inclusive workspaces are capable of being created by companies. These programs are created to address the specific needs of each organization, promoting a culture of acceptance and respect among employees.

Inspiring individuals to embrace their unique differences and encourage the development of an inclusive and empathic culture is DHIFI’s goal. During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.
