SEL Activities

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is at the heart of what we do. We have developed programs for children and teens to make sure they get the help they require to experience relationships that are healthier, increased empathy, and a boost to their confidence. We strive to foster inclusive environments in many places, including schools, communities, and even business settings and provide a variety of SEL activities to achieve this. To promote a culture of empathy and acceptance, students are motivated to appreciate and understand the qualities that make themselves and others special with these activities. An Inclusion Curriculum For Students

At DHIFI, we take inclusion and belonging workshop for students very seriously. Disability Awareness Training For Students

We advance our mission of an inclusion curriculum for the workplace in a variety of ways at DHIFI.

  • School Programs: SEL and inclusion education are integrated into the curriculum through our school programs. Students are engaged in meaningful discussions about respect and acceptance through these programs, which include workshops, classroom activities, and assemblies.
  • Community Programs: In addition to schools, we work with community organizations, summer camps, faith-based groups, and other non-profits. These programs strive to build inclusive communities that promote understanding and celebrate inclusion.
  • Corporate Programs: Our goal is to expand our reach to the corporate sector as well. To this end, Inclusion, and Belonging presentations and training sessions are provided so that workplaces that are more inclusive are capable of being created by companies. A culture of respect and acceptance among employees is promoted through these programs which are tailored to each organization’s specific needs.

DHIFI strives to supply inspiration for individuals so that they’re not only capable of accepting the things that make them different but work towards creating a more inclusive culture as a whole. During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.
