Disability Education Workshops For Organizations

We’re dedicated to advancing our mission of social emotional learning activities for students in many ways at DHIFI.

  • School Programs: SEL and inclusion education are integrated into the curriculum through our school programs. These programs include workshops, classroom activities, and assemblies that engage students in meaningful discussions regarding respect and acceptance.
  • Community Programs: Our goal is to extend our reach beyond school environments by working with community organizations, summer camps, faith-based groups, and other non-profits. What these programs work towards is building communities where understanding is promoted so that inclusion can be celebrated.
  • Corporate Programs: Our goal is to expand our reach to the corporate sector as well. As part of this goal, Inclusion presentations and training sessions are offered so that more inclusive workspaces are capable of being created by companies. A culture of acceptance and respect among employees is promoted through these programs which are tailored to the specific needs of each organization.

Our goal at DHIFI is to inspire individuals to embrace their unique differences and foster a culture of inclusion and empathy. During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.
