Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is at the center of what we do. We have created programs for children and teens to make sure they get the assistance they need to experience healthy relationships, increased empathy, and a boost to their confidence. We aim to promote inclusive environments in many places, including communities, schools, and even business settings and provide a variety of SEL activities to achieve this. Disability Support Initiatives For Organizations

We’re dedicated to advancing our mission of disability acceptance workshop for students in many ways at DHIFI.

  • School Programs: Through our school programs, SEL and inclusion education are integrated into the curriculum. Classroom activities, workshops, and assemblies are just several of the ways students become engaged in substantive discussions concerning topics like respect and acceptance.
  • Community Programs: We extend our reach beyond schools by working with summer camps, community organizations, faith-based groups, and other non-profits. Having communities that are inclusive that celebrate inclusion and promote understanding is the goal of these programs.
  • Corporate Programs: We aim to expand our reach to the business sector as well. As part of this goal, Inclusion presentations and training sessions are offered so that more inclusive workspaces are capable of being created by companies. The specific needs of each organization are taken into account with these programs. A culture of acceptance and respect among employees is promoted by these programs.

At DHIFI, our goal is to inspire individuals to embrace the things that make them unique and encourage the development of an inclusive and empathic culture. During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.
