An Inclusion Curriculum

Advancing an SEL curriculum is one of the centerpieces of DHIFI’s efforts. Developing self-confidence, empathy, and healthy relationship skills for children and teens is what our programs are all about. We strive to foster inclusive environments in many places, such as schools, communities, and even business settings and offer a range of SEL activities to achieve this. To foster a culture of acceptance and empathy, students are encouraged to understand and appreciate the qualities that make themselves and others special with activities like these. Sel Programs For Communities

We take a SEL curriculum for educators very seriously at DHIFI. Everybody deserves to feel respected and valued. Our inclusion programs are crafted to create inclusive spaces to achieve this. We’re dedicated to supplying disability acceptance training for organizations at DHIFI. Many have unfortunately experienced first-hand the prevalence of bullying in so many educational settings. Our anti-bullying activities strive to fight this problem by promoting understanding and empathy among students. Our objective is fostering an environment that’s safer and more supportive by providing strategies and tools to help students not only recognize but address bullying behavior. When the importance of respecting differences is emphasized, a sense of responsibility is developed in students that leads them to create a community that is free of bullies. At DHIFI, we advance our mission with social emotional learning programs for students in many ways.

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.
