At Don’t Hide It Flaunt It, we’re dedicated to promoting tolerance and mutual respect through disability acceptance programs for schools. Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It (DHIFI) considers that accepting and celebrating our unique differences is an act that’s extremely powerful. Our mission is to advance acceptance, understanding, mutual respect and tolerance for visible and hidden differences through compelling programs and activities.

An Inclusion Program Program

At the center of our efforts at DHIFI is Social Emotional Learning (SEL). Developing empathy, self-confidence, and healthy relationship skills for young people is what our programs are all about. We strive to promote inclusive environments in various locations, such as schools, communities, and even corporate settings and offer a variety of SEL activities to achieve this. To foster a culture of acceptance and empathy, students are encouraged to understand and appreciate the qualities that make themselves and others special with activities like these. SEL Activities For The Classroom

Be sure to take a look at our Project Flaunt Hub if you’re searching for ideas for classroom activities . Students are invited to form deeper connections with our ‘Get to Know You’ activities. Sharing personal stories and discovering more about the experiences of their peers is vital if you’d like to produce a classroom environment that is supportive and inclusive. These activities create the ideal opportunity for this. These connections make it possible to experience stronger personal relationships through an improved understanding of inclusion. If you’re interested in the potential of a SEL curriculum, why not get started today?

Sel Curriculum For Corporations

We take a social emotional learning curriculum for students very seriously at DHIFI. At DHIFI, our belief is that everyone deserves to feel valued and respected, which is the reason we aim to create spaces that are more inclusive through our inclusion programs. The importance of inclusion is highlighted in the presentations and workshops we deliver, available for schools, community organizations, and corporations. From visible differences like physical disabilities to invisible ones such as learning disabilities and mental health issues, many different sides to inclusion are addressed in the programs we offer.

Bullying Awareness Activities

At DHIFI, we are committed to providing disability support programs for organizations. Many have unfortunately experienced first-hand the prevalence of bullying in educational settings of all kinds. Our anti-bullying activities strive to fight this problem by promoting understanding and empathy among students. We provide tools and strategies to help students recognize and address behavior of bullying, fostering a safer and more supportive environment. When the importance of respecting differences is highlighted, a sense of responsibility is developed in students that results in them creating a community that’s free of bullies. Bullying Prevention Initiatives For Organizations

We advance our mission of disability support curriculum for organizations in a variety of ways at DHIFI.

  • School Programs: SEL and inclusion education are integrated into the curriculum through our programs for schools. Workshops, classroom activities, and assemblies are simply several of the ways we work to engage students in meaningful discussions surrounding topics like respect and acceptance.
  • Community Programs: Our reach extends beyond schools by collaborating with community organizations, summer camps, faith-based groups, and other non-profits. The main objective of these programs is building communities where understanding is promoted so that inclusion can be celebrated.
  • Corporate Programs: We aim to expand our reach to the corporate sector as well. To achieve this, Inclusion presentations and training sessions are offered so that more inclusive workspaces can be created by companies. A culture of acceptance and respect among employees is promoted through these programs which are tailored to each organization’s specific needs.

At DHIFI, our goal is to inspire individuals to embrace the things that make them unique and foster a culture of inclusion and empathy. We strive to create environments where everybody feels valued and respected with the help of our social emotional learning activities, get to know you activities for the classroom , inclusion programs, and anti-bullying activities.

Testimonials

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.

When the U.S. Embassy in Israel hosted Meg Zucker as a Distinguished American Speaker in 2015, the audiences she spoke and met with were deeply inspired by her personal story, her effective advocacy, and the early success of Don’t Hide It, Flaunt It.  Her appearance made a huge impact with advocates for inclusion and acceptance which still resonates today with those who met her.

Daniel Shapiro

former U.S. Ambassador to Israel

Meg is an energetic and engaging speaker who inspires all who meet her with her life story of growing up with a blatant physical difference and parenting kids who share her difference.   Her message of “the things that make me different make me, me” is heartfelt and impactful and resonates with audiences of all ages and backgrounds.  Meg’s mission of building acceptance, tolerance, and empathy is more important now than ever before.  Everyone who has the pleasure of hearing Meg’s story and her vision will be better for it.
