Inclusion Programs

We believe that SEL programs for universities is truly capable of making a difference in the world. At the heart of our work at DHIFI is Social Emotional Learning. One of the goals of SEL is to help individuals more effectively manage their emotions, build interpersonal skills, and make more responsible decisions, with a focus on students. SEL activities have the ability to increase awareness of the experiences of others, foster team building and encourage enhanced communication. These activities help participants connect with themselves and others, developing the essential social skills required for success, both personally and academically. An Inclusion Curriculum For Military Families

In addition to social emotional learning activities, we also focus on inclusion programs for organizations. Fostering spaces where each individual feels a sense of belonging, regardless of their race, gender, background, or abilities is the aim of our Inclusion programs. We go beyond inclusion by encouraging true inclusion and inclusion – with a goal of ensuring equal access for all. Our programs target schools, corporations, and communities with engaging formats that address a broad scope of topics.

Social Emotional Learning Activity Ideas For The Classroom

Project Flaunt offers empathy building activities elementary school that foster a sense of community and inclusion. Encouraging individuals to celebrate their differences and share their stories with others, Project Flaunt is an innovative initiative. Individuals share something unique about themselves in icebreakers during these activities. This program is designed to help kids and teens build self-confidence, empathy and healthy relationship skills.

We work with community organizations, summer camps, faith-based organizations, and other non-profits.

During our 2019 annual President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW) Symposium, Meg gave an impressionable presentation titled “What You Think of Me is None of My Business: Embracing Your Superpower” which embodied our theme of PCCW Celebrates One Cornell: Diversity and Inclusion.” Not only was Meg’s presentation insightful, thoughtful and impactful, but she captivated the audience. Sharing stories about those who go through life with visible and invisible differences made us aware that we all face difficulties and challenges in many ways, but together, through education and awareness, we can be compassionate, loving and caring to everyone, no matter the trials and tribulations ahead.
